Four shots so far. Hep A and Hep B, Typhoid and Rabies.

Rabies hurt going in... florescent pink liquid turned my shoulder hot for hours. Typhoid bruised and made me sleep on my back for the night, instead of my side.

No other side effects though (besides the missing $250 from my bank account). Knock on wood.

I still have so many more shots to take.

My calculations were wrong, I was a week ahead of myself, and it's now only a little over four weeks to go. Time's going by quickly. I spend entirely too much time inside a call centre and inside my house starting and finishing contract work. Hopefully by the time I'm ready to leave, I'll have banked a little over $2000.

There's a plan in the works to bicycle through Europe for a few months right after my trip. I'm not sure if it'll pan out, but it's exciting to think about. There are many factors though, that could interfere with that idea though, but there are also many factors to support the idea.

Last night, I went to the movies and saw XLG, and there were images of Kenya. I saw the African trees and grass, and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I said to my companion, "I'm going there!" (meaning Africa, not Kenya) Seconds after I said it, a bought of panic, and he sensed it, and said, "Just imagine how peaceful it will be there, compared to the mess that's here." And he was right. Hot air, cool ocean, new animals, different people...

All a plane ride or two away. An entire different way of life. I'm ready for the change.
