| (2003-09-06) Happy, FINALLY I just had my first bargin. D70 down to D45 for a gigantic watermelon. He had a great smile, and was really nice. I liked him. I wanted something light on my stomach for the day. That, and I just spent D75 on wonderful German knives that I could probably spend $50 on at home. After I'm done here, I'm going to send them home so that I don't have to carry them around with me when I go travelling through Europe with Peter. I've finally accepted the fact that I'll be here for the next six months, and I'm bound to make the best of it. Yesterday it rained all day, torrential rain, and the temperature dropped to 27.5 degrees, with a humidity level of 85-90. It was so humid at night that I couldn't sleep. At around 10pm, a girl and I decided it'd be a good idea to get off the porch we'd been sitting on for 10 hours and jump in the pool with all of our clothes on. So we did. It was immature fun. I'm feeling much, much better. I'm on antibiotics now, because my urine sample came back and I do have a kidney infection. I start work this coming week, and I'm really anxious to start. Something productive with my time. And if the next six months go by as quickly as the past week has, before I know it, I'll be on a plane to London to spend some more time travelling through Europe. This thought brings a smile to my face and keeps me up at night with excitement. But I really am very happy to be here. |
